Experienced in funding applications, research project management, qualitative research methods.
PRTLI 1 funded oral history project on Women in Paid Employment in Munster 1936-1960, resulting in
public archive of 42 life story interviews with women born in Ireland between 1912 and 1942 (see
www.ucc.ie/wisp/ohp) & suite of publications.
Commissioned research (Irish government) on attrition in sexual assault and rape cases in Ireland and
on needs and concerns of victims of crime in Ireland (see www.csvc.ie).
Participant in Framework 7 Science and Society project on European Patient Organisations in a
Knowledge Society (EPOKS) which involves partners from France, Portugal and the UK (see
(http://www.csi.ensmp.fr/WebCSI/EPOKSWebSite/). Researching birth activism.
Co-convener of a European Science Foundation funded Exploratory Workshop entitled Assisted
Reproduction and Changing European Family Structures: Current and Future Challenges (UCC April,
2011) - Assisted Reproductive Technology.
