I have a broad background in Pedagogy, Psychology and Communication Sciences. My specialization is in Speech Science and I have a strong clinical background in Speech-Language Pathology. My research interests focus on speech production characteristics of children with hearing-impairment, assessment of auditory skills in children with cochlear implants and other hearing problems, phonological development in relation to lexical development in children with communication problems. As principal investigator of the european project entitled enhancing auditory skills in children with cochlear implants via child-centered, educational intervention approaches I have gained experience as a coordinator of a project, working with other professional teams, such as audiologists, special educators and speech therapists, psychologists, and families. I teach university courses in the field of communication sciences and disorders, supervise individual educational plans for children with speech and hearing problems, conduct/participate in continuous educational programs for professionals of special education. I have used technologies relating to acoustic phonetics (spectrography, nasometry).
