Center for Sociological and Political Researches is historically the first and at the contemporary moment a leading sociological service in the Republic of Belarus. The staff of the Centre is more than 20 professionals working in the spheres of sociology, economy, political science, social psychology, marketing research, electoral studies, organisation of polls, surveys, qualitative studies and data processing.
The structure of the centre: two Analytic Departments; Data Processing Department; Interview-Network Department; Technical Provision of the Research; Data Collection Quality Control Service. The centre has a wide network of more than 200 trained and experienced interviewers, trained to work with sensitive issues, who reside in all the regions of the republic, thus the CSPR can conduct national polls in very short terms. Data collection control service of CSPR guarantees quality of research works, applying the method of second visit up to 20% of the respondents.
The Centre has collected empirical data base since 1990-ies, and can trace the change in social, political and economical situation in the country since than. CSPR deals with the study of the problems of social structure of the society, economic behaviour, business environment, investment climate, conditions and quality of life, education, culture, international relations, social identity.

 International and national projects beyond EU Framework Programme
CSPR participates in international comparative surveys like “European Values Survey”, “World Values Survey”, “New European Barometer”, Comparative Study of Electoral Systems. CSPR has conducted researches for the UNO office in Belarus, worked for the UNICEF, International Finance Corporation, participated in a number of INTAS, TASCIS, FP5,7; Copernicus projects. Center’s research was funded by the Austrian National Bank; Volkswagen Fund; Friedrich Ebert Foundation; Economic and Social Researhc Council, UK; Fund for Fundamental Researches of Belarus; the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development; the World Bank.
CSPR-BSU has partnership relations with the sociological research centres in the NIS countries and Western Europe – Berlin Research Center (Germany, Berlin), Institute of Advanced Studies (Austria, Vienna), Institute for Social Research (Lithuania), European Centre for Survey Research at College of Arts and Social Science of University of Aberdeen (Scotland, UK), Eastern-Ukrainian Fund for Social Research (Ukraine, Kharkiv), TNS-Opinion (Kiev, Ukraine), Center for Sociological Research at Moscow State University (Russia, Moscow), GORBI Gallup International (Georgia), Bialystok University Sociological Center (Poland) etc.
