Brief description of your activity focus
My research focus is two-fold: external relations of the European Union, and African politics in a regional and international context.

Details about Expertise / Competences / Technologies
My research interests and expertise relate to Africa and international politics; EU-Africa relations; the external relations of the European Union; the European Union and international organisations; and comparative regionalism. I have expertise in European and international policy-making, and first-hand experience of the policy-making process in the European context.
I also have experience of research evaluation, in regard to individual research projects and to large-scale research projects (3 million euros and upwards), and frequently evaluate research projects for national and international funding bodies. I also have first-hand experience of managing international research projects, and a track-record in attracting international research funding. As a member of several international research networks, mw own research has been enriched by the exposure to different views and perspectives.
I have taught postgraduate courses in my research areas for fifteen years, and have worked in universities in Europe, Africa, and Asia.
