The International Management Institute “IMI-NOVA” is an educational institution (higher education) offering Undergraduate and Graduate studies. The university staff includes over 86 doctors in economics, university professors and lectors that are actively involved in research activities.
The key research directions that the institute specializes in are: European economic integration, International investments, Labor market analysis, Social Studies, Crisis Management.
The most notable achievements have been: Moldova-EU trade research that culminated with a mathematical model for export stimulation; studies and calculations on the impact of European Integration and border liberalization on migration; the structural analysis of the housing market and the implementation of innovational market management tools; a comparative research on IT implementation in the region.

International and national projects beyond EU Framework Programme
The International Management Institute has numerous international partnerships with leading universities: a double diploma project with the University of Nice “Sophia Antipolis”, bilateral projects and experience exchange with the University of Pierre Mendes (France), Paris I “Pantheon - Sorbonne” (France), Paris XI “Paris Sud” (France), the University of Malta “Link Campus”, the NOVI University (Netherlands), the Keele University (Great Britain), the Degli Studi di Genova University (Italy), the National Economic Development Institute (Romania). Furthermore, the university has taken part in a vast number of international projects and activities: the TACIS project on Perfecting economic teaching in Moldova, the Eurasia Foundation project on Excellence in Business and Administration, the REAP “Financial Services and Business Management in Moldova” project, the AUPELF-UREF project on creating french economic courses within the institute, the AIF Lifelong learning for the Business and Civil Servant Community, the USIA “Promoting Development through Higher Education in Moldova” project, the Central European University “Curriculum Research Center” and “Course Development Competition” projects, the FRANCODE project on offering courses to teaching staff, the involvement in the “RESEGE – Réseau d’Europe du Sud Est pour l’Enseignement de la Gestion des Entreprises academic network, and a number of other projects financed by SOROS, TACIS, local business owners, etc.
