Mentored career development for 23 Research Fellows, 6 Administrators.
Supervised 13 Ph.D. & 5 Masters thesis. Delivered doctoral courses in UK and Finland.
Member ESRC Seminar Series Award Panel 2003, 2005, 2010. Member First Grant Award Panel 2007. Referee Professorial Fellows 2007. Member Research College 1998-2004.
Elected to Academy of Social Sciences (AcSS) in 2004. Long time active member of the BSA and held post of Treasurer and chair of committees on equality, career development and publishing.
Associate Director Centre for Research on Families and Relationships from inception in 2001 and from 2004-10 Visiting Senior Fellow, Hanken School of Economics, Helsinki.
