Details about Expertise / Competences / Technologies
I have developed exciting and innovative focal points of research in the field of Alfred
Schütz’s phenomenology as well as Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s phe-nomenology of the subjective body. My areas of
research are located in the field of bodily perception and the interrelationship of body and action. In particular, I
analyzed the implications of Merleau-Ponty’s approach for the conceptualization of new forms of intentionality
that go beyond the traditional model of interaction between two hu-man actors. I have developed a methodology
and method for video interaction analysis with-in this framework. This was published in the book “The Sociality of
the Visual: the Founda-tion of Video Hermeneutics and Material Analyses” at the publishing house “Velbrück Wis-
senschaft” in 2014. Up to now the method of video hermeneutics was utilized for the study of doctor-patient consultations, the communication in the operating room and the interaction between professionals, parents and children at the youth welfare service. I am looking for cooperation partners in
the research area of ethnic and religious studies in order to use video hermeneutics to analyze the communicative mechanisms that cause
gemeinschaft as well as delimitation among ethnic and religious groups in their everyday interaction. I can contribute a case study in Germany at the Center for Interreligious Education and Encounter Felsberg, Hessen where I am starting a pilot study in 2017.
