 Research Activities

International and national projects beyond EU Framework Programme
The Institute of Musical Research exists to facilitate research in music of all traditions and eras, and to support freelance and affiliated scholars alike.

RILM: Répertoire International de Littérature Musicale
Inputting of titles and abstracts for RILM-UK has been funded by the IMR since May 2008, supporting the established team working at the University of Nottingham. This work ensures that the UKs output in all aspects of musical research is entered into the international database run from New York. If you have material to submit to RILM-UK, click on the link for more information.

PRIMO: Practice as Research in Music Online
This online archive provides a national resource of practice-based research in music. It is an open-access repository of audio, video, image and text files for the purposes of research, study and teaching and was developed in 2007-9 with funding from the JISC Repository Start-Up and Enhancement Scheme. We ask new users to register on the site before accessing audio-visual materials.

DeNOTE: Centre for Eighteenth-Century Performance Practice
DeNOTE (launched in October 2010 with funding from the School of Advanced Study) will offer a series of seminars, recitals, lecture-recitals and workshops at the IMR and regionally along with (eventually) an associated web resource to practitioner-researchers in eighteenth-century performance practice.
