Head of an international research group on wage issues
In 2015 a group of around forty researchers was formed to consider the main issues around wages. He took the
name of WAGE, for Wage Analysis in a Globalizing Environment: with ten European Universities (Paris, London,
Arras, Lille, Amsterdam, Padua etc.), it combines economists, historians and sociologists soon. Ten members
representing other continents (Morocco, Uruguay, India, Malaysia, Russia, etc.).
Main partner is the International Labour Organization (Geneva), which is the UN body in charge of labour issues
(relationships within the company, working conditions, etc.).
Backed by MESHS Lille, he obtained funding from the National Research Agency (2015-17) and the Community of
Universities of Nord-Pas-de-Calais. It will try to apply to a European project between 2017 and 2019.
It develops five main research areas: the wages of young, gender wage gap, global convergence of regional wage,
wages and migration, the issue of a decent wage
It plans to create a website dedicated to salaries, an inventory of publications on wages and archives concerning
their history, international database on wages, recommendation notes for companies, employees and the public
authorities to a more positive wage strategy.
His work seeks to contribute to a reduction in wage inequality in general
