I study national identities (national self-understanding) and their effects political attitudes

My main area of interest is how the varying contents of individuals ethnic and national self-understanding is affected
by demographic characteristic (e.g., gender, class, generation, immigration history), and how it in turn shapes their
political attitudes, especially attitudes toward war and peace and attitudes toward immigrants and immigration.
I use both quantitative and qualitative research methods, these includes in-depth interviews, comparative-history,
survey data-analysis (including SEM and LCA), and survey-experiments.
