Books include Racism and Ethnicity; a global analysis, London: Pearson / Prentice Hall, 2010, Racism, Postcolonialism and Europe, Liverpool: Liverpool University Press, 2009 (edited with Huggan), Institutional Racism in Higher Education, Stoke-on-Trent: Trentham Press, 2004 (edited with Turney and Phillips), Race in the News, Basingstoke: Palgrave, 2002, Racism, Ethnicity and Social Policy, Hemel Hempstead: Prentice Hall/ Harvester Wheatsheaf, 1996, Local Government and Thatcherism, London: Routledge, 1990 (with Butcher, Leach and Mullard) and The Local Politics of Race, London: Macmillan, 1986 ( with Ben-Tovim, Gabriel, and Stredder). currently involvement in 2 EUFP7 projects on aspects of ethnicity, education and antiracism.
