Brief description of your activity focus
Assistive Technology with a focus on behaviour change interventions, the support of autistic people, and service design methodologies

Details about Expertise / Competences / Technologies
My research is centred around the design and development of assistive technologies. I lead the Assistive Technologies
research group and also the Leeds Behaviour Lab research group, which investigates the use of technology to
facilitate positive behaviour change - e.g. in the areas of weight management, physical activity and general well-
being.

In my research I often use user-centred Design Thinking / Service Design approaches.

A second area of research is the support of people on the autism spectrum through technology, especially in relation
to widening access to Higher Education for autistic students. I lead the EU funded Autism&Uni project (www.autism-
uni.org)
