Dr Noel Richardson has extensive experience in the area of men’s health at a research, policy and advocacy level.
He is principal author of the first ever National Policy on men’s health, which was published in Ireland in 2009. He
has worked as a policy advisor on men’s health at the Department of Health since 2007. He is co-author of the first
European Union report on men’s health, published in 2011. He completed a doctoral thesis on men’s health in 2007,
has a broad range of peer-reviewed and other publications in men’s health, and peer-reviews for a number of
academic journals. He was PI and co-author of the Men and Cancer Report which was commissioned by the Irish
Cancer Society and published in 2013. He has a distinguished track record in the development of men’s health
training resources and toolkits, and is principal author of ENGAGE, Ireland’s National Men’s Health Training
Programme. He has presented extensively at national and international conferences and is a board member of the
Men’s Health Forum in Ireland and the European Men’s Health Forum.
