Innovative public policies in urban and territorial development

The Agency for sustainable Mediterranean cities and territories addresses mainly the decision-makers regarding territorial development in the various scales of the
public action: ministries, States structures at national and local levels, local and territorial authorities of the Mediterranean countries.
In a more precise way, the Agency mainly deals with issues of organization and public governance related to the implementation of integrated urban and territorial
The Agency thus offers a set of competences, and legal, administrative and technical tools, to ensure the consistency of the various public and private actors who
intervene on large integrated urban and territorial projects.
The three necessary levels of coordination to monitor integrated project are concerned:
• the State level and the various forms of coordination between central administrations and territorial projects,
• relations between the State level and the local administration or decentralized levels of public action,
• coordination between the territorial actors linked to the private civil society and the private sector acting in integrated urban and territorial projects.
The Agency offers an operational support and a project management assistance on experimental projects of sustainable territorial development, over a long
period, to demonstrate the efficiency of an integrated approach coordinated between all the actors on the ground.
AVITEM is a strategic regional partner in PACA Region, promoting governance and public policies expertise on sustainable and inclusive development.
