Research at the IWH provides evidence-based analyses of economic relationships.

Focus lies on processes of economic growth, causes for macro-economic dynamics, micro-economic processes driving innovations, and the role of financial markets for the real economy. Research emphasizes the process of institutional change which the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, but also members of the European Union are facing, and special emphasis lies on developments in emerging markets.
