Giancarlo Lauto is an assistant professor in Organisation Studies and lecturer of Organisation of SMEs
of Change Management, at the Department of Economics and Statistics, University of Udine.
His research interests lie in the following areas: organisation of scientific research, technology transfer
and academic entrepreneurship, management of innovation and growth patterns in SMEs.
Giancarlo holds a Doctoral degree and a MSc (Laurea) in Business studies from the University of Udine.
He has also achieved a Master degree in Management of Innovation at Sant’Anna School of Advanced
Studies of Pisa. His doctoral dissertation investigated the organisation of knowledge intensive activities
by focusing specifically on the case of translational research in medicine. He has been a visiting doctoral
candidate and then a post-doc researcher at the Research Centre on Biotech Business of the department
of Innovation and Organizational Economics of Copenhagen Business School. He has also been involved
many projects related to the topic of innovation and of the organization of scientific research.
