Annelies began her academic career after many years working in the broad arena of school to work
transition and industry training in both New Zealand and Australia. Her doctoral work considered the
extent to which government instituted networks in post compulsory education can act as learning networks
for systemic change. In 2013 her book which drew on that and subsequent work - Rethinking Learning
Networks: Collaborative Possibilities for a Deleuzian Century was published by Peter Lang. Her next book
is a major co-edited collection entitled A Critical Youth Studies for the 21st Century.
